you are: FORMATION of the ECONOMIC MECHANISM of DISARMAMENT

Rather new problem of conversion discussed from the beginning of 80th years, is considered within the limits of General Assembly of the United Nations, on the second and third special sessions of General Assembly of the United Nations on disarmament, 45th and subsequent sessions of General Assembly of the United Nations, a number of the international conferences under the aegis of the United Nations. questions connected with conversion, indirectly were mentioned at the Soviet-American negotiations about reduction of rockets of average and smaller range, on nuclear and space arms.

Problems of restriction of international distributions and deliveries of arms were directly considered at corresponding Soviet-American negotiations in 1978. They are discussed also at the next and special sessions of General Assembly of the United Nations, the international conferences. at last, the interrelation between disarmament and development which is treated usually in the broad plan and quite often includes also other economic components of disarmament, is discussed by member countries of the United Nations from first years of existence of this organisation at various levels. The largest dialogue on these questions has taken place at the International conference of the United Nations on interrelation between disarmament and development in 1987, the third special session of General Assembly of the United Nations on disarmament in 1988. Interrelation of two processes is a subject of active discussion at bilateral level that finds acknowledgement in the corresponding documents for example signed with India, Brazil, Mexico and some other developing countries.
